Outside
Landscape water use typically runs 40-50 percent of a person's total use, so water no more than every third day, which allows the grass to develop deeper roots and use moisture deep in the ground.
The best time to water is early morning or late evening when there is no wind. Skip watering until the grass dries after it has rained.
Design, install and operate a sprinkler system with water-efficiency in mind.
